This technology-forward retail kiosk was meant to be the primary vehicle for the Dr. Scholl’s Custom Fit Orthotics brand and the fixture was developed to be the only selling space for this new category of products. Deployed at carefully selected retail classes of trade. Due to the novel and efficacious promise of these custom footcare insoles, the project team needed to devise a shopper experience that would help customers select the optimal Orthotic inserts by analyzing their unique foot pressure and arch type.
A combination of permanent materials were utilized to manufacture a durable fixture that needed to endure significant consumer use and in-store wear. The ergonomics associated with many different consumers testing the display was an important design consideration.

Designated for placement in the HBA section of the store where footcare products are typically displayed, shoppers are shown the recommended orthotics for their specific needs, as an alternative to visiting a podiatrist and being prescribed more costly customized orthotic solutions.

The fixture uses “Footmapping” heatmap technology with pressure sensors that creates a personalized, screen-based FootMap and recommends the specific Custom Fit insert that best matches their needs.
